Four Ways to Be More Proactive with Your PR

Many companies think of their public relations efforts as an extension of their marketing department, but PR can be much more than that. Marketing plans out their messaging strategies week or months in advance. PR, on the other hand, tends to be more responsive to the market, the news cycle or situations that arise within the company.

But PR can be more than that, too.

Today, AI tools scan thousands of media sources, social platforms, and forums in real time—identifying not just keywords, but tone, emotional cues, and context. This allows us to be more proactive in our approach to strategic communications.

If you’re new to AI-driven PR, you can start simple. Here is what we would suggest.

1. First, use AI to get a 360-degree view of your competitors and your brand’s perception in the marketplace. One of the best places to get such a report is from Redefining Business Intelligence (RBI). If you need less information, do the deep research yourself.

2. Start tracking sentiment across your earned media and brand mentions. Use a detailed prompt that asks AI to analyze each media mention and explain why it should be considered positive or negative.

3. Use AI to identify triggers that preceded any negative or positive spikes. What exactly is the market keying on, and what does it suggest about future strategic communication efforts?

4. Ask AI to tell you about the different audiences that are responding to your messaging and analyze their preferences or opinions. It’s important to understand what different target publics are thinking. This also allows you to link your PR activities (press releases, events, interviews) to sentiment shifts.

Try it, or call on us for help.

Our clients don’t need to become AI experts to benefit from these tools. At RGA, we embed sentiment and predictive insights into our regular PR programs—helping organizations get out in front of conversations with clarity, confidence, and credibility.

If you’re ready to move from reactive storytelling to strategic foresight, let’s talk. Predictive PR might be the edge your visibility strategy has been missing.
