Jamie Lasher in Rick's Room

Jamie Lasher in Rick’s Room

In this episode of Rick’s Room, Rick Grant sits down with Jamie Lasher, co-founder and co-owner of Worthy Performance Group, to discuss messaging, business storytelling, and how AI can help professionals communicate more effectively.

Jamie explains that while her background spans technology implementation, financial services, consulting, and creative work, her core mission is helping people clarify their messaging. A major topic was Jamie’s “Two-Week Messaging Reset.” The program is designed to minimize time demands on business owners.

The conversation shifted into AI. Jamie explained that while many people are experimenting with AI tools, the quality of output depends heavily on whether users understand their own messaging. Poor messaging creates poor prompts and weak results. To solve that issue, she developed an AI Messaging Toolkit that helps companies align AI outputs with their brand voice and business goals.

Rick Grant:
Welcome back to Rick’s Room, the podcast where we simulate that end-of-day conference lounge conversation. We’ve been busy all day and finally have a chance to sit down with someone we’ve wanted to talk to.

Today, that person is Jamie Lasher.

Jamie, thanks for being here. I started writing your introduction, but it kept getting longer because you’ve done so many things. You’ve worked in technology, technology implementation, financial services, and consulting. But at your core, you help people get their messaging right. Is that fair?

Jamie Lasher:
That is absolutely correct. I love helping people get their messaging right.

Rick:
Let’s start with Worthy Performance Group, which you co-founded with your mother, Laura Lasher. Tell me about what you do there.

Jamie:
Laura has a huge passion for helping sales teams, and I have a huge passion for marketing and helping people clarify their message and improve their marketing strategies.

Rick:
You’ve recently moved beyond consulting and developed tools people can use themselves. Tell us about that.

Jamie:
I developed the Two-Week Messaging Reset, which is a fully asynchronous process.

Clients answer eighteen questions about themselves, their business, and who they serve. It takes about twenty to thirty minutes. Then I do the rest.

The result is six deliverables people can use across websites, email, social media, and networking conversations.

Many people are excellent at what they do, but they lose people while explaining it. This helps solve that problem.

Rick:
You’ve also become StoryBrand certified.

Jamie:
Yes. I became StoryBrand certified in Nashville. StoryBrand, developed by Donald Miller, reframes marketing as a story.

People believe stories. People love stories.

That’s why we go to movies.

My messaging reset is built around that framework.

Rick:
You’ve also developed an AI toolkit.

Jamie:
Everyone is experimenting with AI, but if you don’t understand your own messaging, AI won’t give you the best results.

So I built an AI Messaging Toolkit with prompts that help businesses align AI with their own messaging and goals.

Rick:
I used it myself, and it helped me think differently about my own business.

Jamie:
That’s the goal. StoryBrand is designed to help you think about your business in a different way.

Rick:
How has your background influenced your work?

Jamie:
I’ve had a different perspective than many people in this industry. I grew up around real estate and mortgage professionals. I’ve implemented technology, worked with banks, and always had a creative side.

I love painting and being creative, and consulting is just another way to express that creativity.

Rick:
Jamie Lasher, co-founder of Worthy Performance Group, thanks for joining us.

Jamie:
Thanks, Rick. I appreciate it.
